Here at New Bridge, we embrace the different and unique personalities that our students have and use relational approaches and a restorative approach to build positive relationships with our students.
Curriculum
Our curriculum re-engages students through our accredited therapeutic art programme which is delivered alongside Maths and English up to GCSE; a personal development programme and a range of off-site physical activities.
Any student on roll at a mainstream school can attend New Bridge Alternative Education for up to three days per week or those without a school place can attend as part of a personalised education plan.
New Bridge Alternative Education offer a range of educational programmes which can be delivered at our base in Walsall Town or onsite at the referring home school.
We are experienced and specialise in working with children and young people with social, emotional and mental health challenges; children with special educational needs; those in the care of the local authority or those newly arrived to the UK.
Students can attend lessons at our homely, Walsall base between the hours of 9.00am - 2.30pm for up to three days per week and study towards accredited courses. A healthy breakfast and lunch are provided for all students.
All students attending for 3 days per week will have access to a personalised mentoring programme. Professional counselling can be commissioned for those students identified as needing more support.
Our Artist in School programme offers schools the opportunity to work with a professional artist who will run innovative National Curriculum linked workshops in primary and secondary schools.
Children between Yr3 and Yr11 can access personalised online tuition in the core subjects - Maths, English and Science. Suitable for students needing extra support, looked after children or those without a current school place.
Girls 4 U is a group run for young girls by women to help build self esteem and confidence. The group runs for a day per week over half term and covers a range of themes pertinent to girls aged 11 to 16 yrs.
